PRESS: Russia’s Europlan can buy VEB-Leasing from VEB
MOSCOW, Oct 27 (PRIME) -- Russian leasing company Europlan, controlled by businessmen Mikail Shishkhanov and Mikhail Gutseriyev, is in talks with Vnesheconombank (VEB) on purchase of retail business of its affiliate VEB Leasing, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday, citing sources with knowledge of the situation.
The negotiations began after VEB CEO Sergei Gorkov said the state bank was considering a sale of retail leasing because it is a non-core business for VEB as a development institute. A possible deal with Europlan is only one of the scenarios, the sources said.
Europlan said in a statement, citing CEO Alexander Mikhailov, that it is not in talks to buy leasing business of VEB’s affiliate.
